This cosy barn conversion is ideally situated for visiting the numerous attractions close by, including Winchester Cathedral and Highclere Castle.. Ground Floor:

Outdoor heated swimming pool (shared with owner and other properties on-site, 3m x 7m, depth 1.2m-2.4m, open 10am-4pm May- 14th September, weather permitting). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. This delightful, detached barn conversion stands adjacent to the owner’s country house which offers bed and breakfast, in an attractive peaceful location. Set in 12 acres, there are scenic walks on your doorstep and a wonderful outdoor heated pool to enjoy (May to September, weather permitting). Behind the cottage is a very large wood where you can walk for miles and there is also a pub which is about 30 minutes’ walk and a further two which are about a 45 minute walk.

Inside, the spacious open plan living/dining room maximises on light with high windows and vaulted ceilings. There is an open galleried bedroom on the first floor, whilst the ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen. Every thought has gone in to ensuring that guests are made welcome and that they enjoy their stay as there are many personal touches and homely extras throughout.

Highclere Castle, made famous by the TV series and film, Downton Abbey, is 9 miles away where you can visit behind the scenes of upstairs and downstairs, learn the real history of the property and explore the beautiful gardens. There are so many places to visit within an hour’s drive including the cathedral city of Winchester with King Arthur’s round table, The Science Centre and Planetarium, Salisbury with its heritage, White Horse, Stonehenge, Mottisfont Abbey, Danebury Iron Age Hill Fort and Hinton Ampner. Other attractions include The Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop, Wilton House, Legoland, Windsor Castle, the city of Oxford and Newbury and Thruxton races.

For more local places to visit there is the Bombay Sapphire Gin distillery, the Vyne (National Trust), the Nature Discovery Centre at Thatcham, Bowdown Woods, the UK Wolf Conservation Trust and Pennybridge Alpacas. The property is about 10 minutes’ from Tadley and 5 minutes’ from Kingsclere. Newbury, Reading and Basingstoke are all within easy reach with trains to London, and Heathrow Airport is an hour away. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
