This is also a great location for wildlife watching, particularly for birds such as buzzards and red kites.

The surrounding areas are particularly popular with outdoor enthusiasts, being a natural playground for cyclists, ramblers and nature enthusiasts. The nearby Brechfa Forest and the Brecon Beacons National Park are the ideal place in which to escape the hum-drum of everyday life and spend a day exploring, discovering and enjoying all that this natural area has to offer.

Take a short drive to the picturesque Tywi Valley and discover the many sites dotted along the beautiful river, including dramatic 12-century castles Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn, sitting high upon their embankments, or the Dinefwr Park National Nature Reserve with a picnic for a fabulous day out.

Also nearby are the gardens of Aberglasney Manor, inspiration to poets and artistic for centuries, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, housing more than 8,000 plants across 560-acre countryside, and the stylish yet historic town of Llandeilo with its wide range of eclectic gift shops and highly acclaimed restaurants. Beach 26 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 5 miles.
