Overlooking a pretty village green and opposite a classic village inn, Manor Cottage is a quintessentially English country cottage.
With 2 generous bedrooms, a king size and a comfy twin, the cottage is ideal for couples or a family looking for a rural retreat, whilst not feeling completely cut off, being just 10 miles from the historic market town of Marlborough with the River Kennet meandering through this pretty town, home to the second widest high street in the UK.
An unusual feature of this cottage is that it offers 2 sitting rooms so families will also have enough space to enjoy this lovely cottage.
The pretty garden is part walled and offers the perfect space to relax and unwind after a day’s sightseeing or for a spot of al fresco dining when the weather is kind.
With so much to explore on the doorstep, you may never venture far, however, the village lies ~4 miles south-east of Hungerford and is less than ½ hour’s drive from Marlborough and Newbury so well placed for the Marlborough Summer School/ Jazz Festival and Newbury Racecourse respectively. Other attractions in the immediate area include the Kennett and Avon canal and the Crofton Beam engine whilst Stonehenge, Avebury and the White Horse are around ½ hour west. Major tourist centres such as Bath, Salisbury and Winchester are around 1-hour’s drive. The Cottage is located opposite Shalbourne village green and a stone’s throw from The Plough pub and village shop.
