With so much to explore on the doorstep, you may never venture far, however, the village lies ~4 miles south-east of Hungerford and is less than ½ hour’s drive from Marlborough and Newbury so well placed for the Marlborough Summer School/ Jazz Festival and Newbury Racecourse respectively. Other attractions in the immediate area include the Kennett and Avon canal and the Crofton Beam engine whilst Stonehenge, Avebury and the White Horse are around ½ hour west. Major tourist centres such as Bath, Salisbury and Winchester are around 1-hour’s drive. The Cottage is located opposite Shalbourne village green and a stone’s throw from The Plough pub and village shop.
