Kinganton Bothy, private studio with sea views, Borgue

Dumfries and Galloway. Sleeps up to 4

Kinganton Bothy is a modern self-contained studio attached to the owner's home, with it's own private entrance and patio garden with sea views. An old stone bothy converted in 2017, the open plan accommodation offers a cosy sitting area with sea views from the patio doors, a compact fully equipped kitchen, spacious king size bed and bathroom with large shower cubicle.

The bothy studio is compact but feels light and spacious with it's high ceiling and is comfortable for 2 guests. The addition of a unique double cabin bed means it offers twin accommodation, or can accommodate 2 extra guests, the cabin being ideal for children over 12 and those with a head for heights.

Situated on a smallholding looking out to sea in a beautiful region on the Solway coast, secluded beaches and coves are only a 15 minute stroll and the artists town of Kirkcudbright a short drive away.

We offer 20% discounts for weekly stays.

Things to note:

We’re up a farm track which can be a little bumpy but is easily accessible to all vehicles.

As a family with young children running a smallholding there will be animals and children roaming nearby.

Wifi is very slow (0.5Mbps) so only suitable for email and basic web browsing.

All the accommodation is on ground level (except loft bed) with low entrance and shower thresholds so is very accessible. The loft bed is high up (2.5m), accessed by a pull out staircase so is not suitable for young children, those unsteady on their feet or without a head for heights. Please contact us for more details.

There is some renovation & development work going on at a listed site nearby (about half a mile behind woodland) which is not audible from within the accommodation but can sometimes be heard from the patio and is not loud or intrusive. The work is during the day Mon-Fri.

Located in Kirkcudbright, this apartment is in a rural area and near the beach. Stewartry Museum and The Whitehouse Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Broughton House and Cairn Holy Chambered Cairn. Cally Gardens and Laggan Outdoor are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with fishing and swimming nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with mountain biking and hiking.
