Oozing character and charm, this beautifully converted barn is set in a gated, secluded spot with its own half-acre garden in which to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Many original features have been retained including beams throughout, and exposed stone walls, and there is a large wood burner for those cosy nights in. The friendly owners are on-site to welcome guests and provide an array of advice on local activities and attractions.
Although surrounded by stunning south Kilkenny countryside, this area enjoys excellent access links to the M9 Dublin-Cork motorway, so it is an ideal location for day trips out. Within a 20-minute drive is the picturesque riverside village of Inistioge where many films have been made, including ’Circle of Friends’ and ’Widows Peak’.
Visit colourful Thomastown, with its artisan shops and cafés, Mount Juliet golf course and equestrian centre, as well as historic Jerpoint Abbey. A little further away is vibrant medieval Kilkenny city, with its magnificent castle and where numerous festivals are held throughout the year, including Cat’s Laugh Comedy, roots music, and an arts festival, to name but a few. In the other direction, Ireland’s oldest city, Waterford, offers heritage centres, museums and is home to the famous Waterford Crystal Factory. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 6½ miles.. Approximate distance to Dublin airport is 170 km.
