Ideal for couples or a family, there is a galley-style kitchen with quality appliances, a cosy living room and separate dining room with patio doors opening on to the decking in the front garden. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, as well as a family bathroom. The fields in front of the cottage are used to grow roses, and in the summer are a blaze of colour adding to the view of the countryside to the hills beyond.
An ideal location for guests who enjoy exploring the area on foot or by bike, there are numerous well established routes and you are near the start of the Fife Coastal Path, which covers 117 miles from the Firth of Forth to the Firth of Tay. From your front door you can follow the route to the pretty conservation village of Culross with a local inn, cafés and shop. For fans of the TV series ’Outlander’, Culross with it cobbled lanes and painted houses dating back to medieval times, was a chosen location for filming. Further locations from Outlander in the area include Hopetoun House, Blackness Castle, Doune Castle and Linlithgow Palace, and are all within driving distance.
For days out there are lots of visitor attractions to visit. Falkirk makes a good day out with a busy shopping centre, cafés and restaurants. The Falkirk Wheel, where guests can travel in the world’s only rotating boat lift joining two canals, and The Helix Parkland, home to the Kelpies sculptures, are well worth a visit. Stirling, Perth, Edinburgh and St Andrews can all be reached within an hour’s drive. Longannet Cottages is perfect for a romantic weekend break. Beach 16 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
