Ship Shape is ideally located just a short distance from Weymouth’s train station. Being on the main London or Bristol line, visitors can arrive by train or explore further afield.
Perfect for couples and families who like to be close to the beach and town centre amenities, yet located in a quiet residential area with private parking. Inside, the property is light and airy with French doors from the living room and main bedroom onto the patio area. It has been pleasantly decorated with a coastal theme, and has a patio that is great for enjoying the summer months. There are no steps to the front entrance of the property, so it is ideal for less mobile guests or pushchairs.
There is plenty to keep all the family occupied at Ship Shape as the local area has so much to offer. From the award-winning, golden sandy beach and nearby water sports, to the historic Georgian harbourside. Weymouth’s sea life centre and observation tower are also worth a visit.
Weymouth is well-positioned in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, so which ever direction you decide to explore, there are excellent coastal walks, hidden gem beaches waiting to be discovered and fantastic cliff top views. If you’re not up for walking far, why not jump on the Jurassic Coast bus to Poole or Exeter for the best parts of the 96-mile coastline. The most popular part is certainly the 18-mile stretch from Weymouth to Bridport, which follows Chesil Beach, the lagoon and numerous chocolate box villages along the way, including Abbotsbury.
Slightly further afield you can visit Westbay, Bridport, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, also known as ‘Thomas Hardy town’ is home to some Roman relics, Brewery Square and the pioneering architectural royal development of Poundbury, not forgetting the Isle of Portland, home to the 2012 London sailing Olympics and water sports venue. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
