Come and discover Gwili Cottage, a charming stone cottage at Upton Hall Cottages, nestled deep within the magnificent rolling Carmarthenshire countryside and a short walk to the meandering River Cothi, famous for fantastic trout and salmon fishing. This lovely property is located within a courtyard setting and offers guests use of the owner’s indoor heated swimming pool and sauna.
The pool is fantastic for kids and adults alike to enjoy on those rainy days, or simply enjoy an early morning swim before your day out exploring.

Gwili Cottage is located between the quaint hamlets of Llanfyndd, Pontargothi and Brechfa, surrounded by walks and complete with a good selection of local pubs and restaurants of gastronomic excellence. A 15-minute drive away are the historic market towns of Llandeilo and Carmarthen, set within the Towy Valley, complete with a plethora of fantastic eateries specialising in local produce, boutique shops and galleries.

The cottage is set within the grounds of the owner’s mansion house and is nestled within a courtyard of similar, traditional stone-built cottages. It is full of character with solid oak flooring, a beamed vaulted ceiling in the living room and a cosy wood burner to relax in front of after a busy day sightseeing. Both bedrooms have been lovingly furnished and offer a good level of comfort. In the evening, enjoy dining al fresco on your private patio area with views down along the colourful wooded valley and walled garden.

Locally, the National Botanic Garden of Wales is home to the world’s largest, single span glasshouse. Aberglasney Gardens is recognised as one of the finest gardens in Wales, where you can explore more than 10 acres of magnificent grounds and a restored Grade II listed mansion house. Take a step back in history and visit the National Trust nature reserve of Dinefwr, where you can uncover the delights of the historic house and the 18th-century landscaped park, a deer park and Dinefwr Castle (home to ancient princes of Wales), it really offers something for all the family.

Gwili Cottage is within easy reach of the breathtaking scenery of the Brecon Beacon National Park or the Brechfa Forest cycle trails, to the south the Pembrey Country Park with beach and to the west, the famous walled town of Tenby which offers the perfect beach day out, along with Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, and Folly Farm Zoo, or even the Gower Peninsula, all within an hour’s drive. Beach 18 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
