Quarry House is a delightful, detached stone cottage, located in an idyllic and peaceful location on a quiet country lane, close to the small village of Nantmawr. The village itself is just a few minutes journey away from the historic market town of Oswestry, Shropshire, a lovely town with a wide range of independent shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars. The owners have lovingly restored this former quarry workman’s cottage to encompass all the character of the past whilst embracing modern living to provide comfortable and cosy holiday accommodation for up to four guests. Throughout the property you’ll find traditional features including a stone wall, oak beams and floors, alongside the trappings of a modern, high quality, newly renovated property. The ground floor living room hosts a wood burning stove which can be enjoyed for the prefect night in, relaxing on the sofa. Next to the living room is the snug, offering further comfortable seating for those lazy days with French doors opening on to the patio area and private garden, complete with outdoor furniture giving you an ideal space to sit out and relax. The kitchen diner is very well equipped with a modern fitted kitchen, offering an electric double oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge (inc. ice box) and is complete with an oak dining table with four chairs. Off the kitchen sits the utility room containing a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a cloakroom with WC and hand basin. Stairs lead up from the living room to the spacious first floor bedrooms, both of which are en-suite and are equipped with contemporary furniture to store all your personal effects. Bedroom one is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, with a gable window offering views out towards the countryside. Bedroom two offers an en-suite bathroom, and you’ll find a luxurious super king-size bed and plenty of unique storage space for clothing. This bed is zip and link, which can be split to make two single beds upon request, thus offering flexible sleeping arrangements to suit your needs. Off-road parking is available for 2-3 cars. Visitors to the area will have easy access to Shropshire, Cheshire and Mid and North Wales. Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs within 300 yards of the property. Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall (one of the seven wonders of Wales), Powis Castle, Chirk Castle, Lake Vyrnwy and World Heritage Pontcysyllte Aqueduct are all an easy drive. The historic city of Chester and medieval town of Shrewsbury are both under an hour’s drive. Head out for some very picturesque walks straight from the front door, popular with walkers and nature lovers.This is a good, central location for touring the beautiful Shropshire/Mid Wales countryside and beyond.
