Nestled within 30 acres of land, Maestyle Barn has stunning views over the Carmarthenshire countryside. This detached barn conversion is flooded with light and has been comfortably furnished. The open-plan ground floor has a lovely country kitchen with an electric range cooker, Belfast sink and American-style fridge/freezer. With a wooden farmhouse dining table at the heart and a wood burner, this will be a sociable place to cook and dine in a relaxed setting. The other end of the room is where you will find the comfy sofa and another wood burner - you will always be cosy here! The TV has a full Sky package and there are lots of books, games and DVDs.

Upstairs, the large galleried landing area has a big picture window with an inviting day bed, where you can curl up with a good book and enjoy the wonderful view. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower and toilet, and a further triple bedded room and separate shower room. The barn has its own enclosed courtyard to the front with garden furniture, but the owner who lives adjacent is happy for you to explore the grounds, which includes woodland, a wildlife pond and a river (children must be supervised). You can even feed the chickens!

The small market town of Llanybydder, 5 miles, straddles the River Teifi, and here you can shop for the essentials. The larger town of Llandeilo is a 30-minute drive and sits on a hill above the River Tywi. Known for its classy boutique shops, a great choice of delicatessens and eateries, and regular festivals of music and creativity, Llandeilo also has a wealth of historic monuments in the area including the medieval Dinefwr (National Trust) and Carreg Cennen castles. From here, the Brecon Beacons National Park is a short drive.

If you explore a little further you will discover the seaside towns and sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay within a 45-minute drive, or to the south, the Gower Peninsula or the seaside resorts in Pembrokeshire are easily accessible for a day out. Wherever you decide to explore in this diverse cultural region, you have the comfort of Maestyle Barn to return to, kick off your shoes, open a bottle of wine and relax and soak up those glorious views. Beach 20 miles. Shop and restaurant 5½ miles, pub 3½ miles.
