Only 200 yards from the sea front on a quiet side street, this spacious ground floor apartment really is in the centre hub of this vibrant upmarket seaside town. An ideal holiday home for friends or couples, it is named after the surfers who flock to the nearby Longsands beach, a nationally recognised area for water sports and competitions. A quiet enclosed yard is to the rear to relax and unwind when you are not along the sea front. Close to the many pubs and bespoke shops and cafés, it is a great location for spoiling yourself with a few drinks and lovely food in one of the many local restaurants and bistros. There are some beautiful walks round Tynemouth including the lovely walk along the seafront with views of the sandy beaches. The promenade takes you to North Shields and the historic quayside plays host to the tall ships. A short walk from the door takes you to the dramatic Tynemouth Castle and Priory dating back centuries. Nearby the Blue Reef Aquarium provides family fun and Tynemouth Park has a dinosaur themed mini golf course with pedalo boats on the lake.
The nearby metro station has been restored to Victorian splendour and has been named the Covent Garden of the North with lovely weekend markets and events. Walk a mile or so further and the pretty bay in Cullercoats has some nice little cafés to stop off at and where you can carry on walking to Whitley bay with more golden sands and larger shops. Ideally located for exploring the whole of Northumberland, Tyneside and Durham with easy access to many of the roads leading to the top tourist spots in the county. There is easy access to the main roads taking you further north up to the beautiful heritage coast where a visit to Alnwick with the famous castle and cobbled streets should not be missed. Travel west to Hadrian’s Wall where you can stop at a Roman fort or look at the famous tree in ’sycamore gap’ featured in Robin Hood. Take the metro ¼ mile away to the vibrant city of Newcastle, easily accessible where you can admire the grand historic architecture or wander along the quayside, perhaps popping into the Baltic for the wonderful views. Beach 200 yards. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 175 yards.
