Admire the little white washed church and the tiny lighthouse.A few miles up the coast is Aberffaw's superb sandy beach and bird filled estuary. The Codmother (eat in or take away) in Newborough is an unassuming popular village chippy. Expect huge portions of delicious freshly cooked food. Customers are prepared to travel some distance to enjoy it. Nearby at Newborough the owners of this property recommend Marram Grass (Good Food Guide 2016) and on the Straits the National Trust Cafe at the entrance to Plas Newydd is ideal for a snack once you have viewed the magnificent country house and gardens (a recent venue for the Antiques Roadshow). At Menai Bridge try Dylan's award winning restaurant right down at the edge of the water just below the magnificent Menai Suspension bridge. Pass the standing stones, cairns and burial chamber at Bryn Celli Ddu, then on through Llandaniel Fab, skirting the Cefni Bird Sanctuary, continue through Llangaffo and finish back in Newborough. Fabulous 360 degree views can be enjoyed from the road between Llanfair PG and Rhyd yr Arian. You might like to eat your picnic at the bird sanctuary.
