St. Benets (W44381) and St. Petrocs (W44382) are semi-detached properties situated alongside Avila House. The abbey stands in a very peaceful setting, on the outskirts of the little town of Buckfastleigh, on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, with the River Dart flowing through the abbey grounds. The history of Buckfast Abbey is extraordinary as it is the only English medieval monastery to have been restored and used again for its original purpose. The extensive gardens at Buckfast Abbey provide a pleasant environment for a stroll, taking in the lovely sensory gardens, designed to stimulate the senses of sight, smell, hearing and touch.
