Located down a private lane, this well thought out cottage, adjoining the owner’s home, overlooks private ancient woodland which guests are free to explore. Keep a look out for owls, deer and badgers, who have made it their home. This delightful holiday property is ideally situated for visiting National Trust Sheffield Park and Gardens, formed through centuries of landscape design with influences of Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton. The parkland was once a deer park and WWII camp, but is now grazed with livestock.
For fans of steam trains, take a trip on the Bluebell Railway which runs between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead. Enjoy fine dining on the Golden Arrow Pullman recreating the glamorous atmosphere on one of the most famous trains in the world, that once linked London to Paris. Take a trip to Lewes and visit the castle which towers above the medieval streets below. Bring your glad rags, pack up a picnic and head for Glyndbourne, and be spellbound by world-class opera whilst surrounded by the beautiful South Downs.
Golf courses and horse racing are close by, and carp fishing is available at Framfield Fisheries (at cost). Uckfield station is within easy reach, with links to London Bridge where more sightseeing opportunities are available. Buses also pass the end of the lane and will take you to Eastbourne, Brighton and Royal Tunbridge Wells. There is a leisure centre and cinema just half a mile away. Beach 21 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
