The South Downs National Park is nearby with many scenic walks. Places to visit include Chichester with its ornate cathedral, Festival Theatre and many restaurants and pubs spread over a lovely Georgian precinct, Goodwood for horse racing and classic/modern car racing, Fontwell Races, West Dean Gardens, Denmans Garden, Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, and Arundel with its historic castle. Slightly further afield, discover historic Portsmouth with the Spinnaker Tower, historic ships and waterside dining, or perhaps enjoy a ferry trip to the Isle of Wight. Spend a day out in cosmopolitan Brighton with the Royal Pavilion, art galleries, theatres, extensive shopping, marina, pier and The Lanes. Beach 110 yards. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
