Bracadale House is a detached, architect-designed property situated on the shoreline of Loch Harport, and is designed to capture the outstanding loch and hill views from all the rooms especially with floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished taking all comforts into consideration. A very large, bright and airy sun room leads out into the garden, and a central island is a feature of the kitchen. For the convenience of less mobile guests, a sofa bed in the living room is a welcome addition. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, and the master bedroom has a large balcony where you can sit out and enjoy the sunrise, sunset or dark skies.

The Minginish Peninsula has much to offer with superb walking for all levels, including Talisker Bay, Glenbrittle Beach, Fairy Pools and the Cullin for the experienced climbers. There are local pubs that have regular live music, as well as craft shops, art galleries and the Talisker Distillery, however it is the scenery and the changing light that makes this area so dramatic. Take a trip to Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach, Neist Point Lighthouse or the beautiful Waternish Peninsula, which are all recommended and lie on the west side of the island.

Portree, the bustling main town, is where you can take a stroll down to the harbour and watch the fishing vessels unload their catch of the day. Enjoy a sea trip from Portree to see the varied sea and bird life, and also to enjoy the beauty of the rugged coastline. To the north of Portree is the Trotternish Peninsula, which boasts some of Skye’s most stunning scenery. To the south of the island is Broadford, with the southern tip called ‘The Garden of Skye’. Here you can visit the ruins of Armadale Castle and its lovely gardens. Outdoor pursuits include kayaking, pony trekking, boat trips and fishing/angling. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
