Enjoying panoramic views of the hidden village of Glyn Ceiriog and the valley beyond, Nodyn y Nant (which means ’sound of the stream’) is a welcoming retreat for couples seeking comfortable and well equipped accommodation in blissful surroundings. This charming detached cottage built from stone and slate is tucked away in the grounds of the owner’s farmhouse and has been lovingly converted from an original stable and grain store to provide a delightful holiday home with all the comforts one expects including wifi and wood burner.
Ideal for those who love the outdoors, there are plenty of fantastic walks in the area as well as some great pubs. Its also a great area for mountain biking. Guests are welcome to bring their own and store them on site, or alternatively, cycle hire is available in Chirk, 6 miles. Llandegla Forest, which has become a haven for mountain bikers, is just 13 miles away. Other activities available locally include fishing and horse riding, and there are several golf courses within a 15-minute drive. Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy canoeing and white water rafting on the River Dee, or why not visit Bala Lake, 25 miles, for a wider range of water based activities.

The quiet village of Glyn Ceiriog is just 3 miles from the bustling town of Llangollen, home of the International Eisteddfod, Balloon Festival, Horseshoe Pass, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, horse drawn canal boats and the steam railway with trains running into Corwen. Other towns worth visiting include Wrexham, 16 miles, and Ruthin, 19 miles,, which both have a good selection of shops and cafes.

Nodyn y Nant also serves as a great touring base with so much to see and do within easy reach, not just in Wales but in neighbouring Shropshire and Cheshire too. The historic city of Chester with its city walls, famous race course and Chester Zoo is around half an hours’ drive, as is Shrewsbury. Snowdonia and the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno are reachable by car in just over an hour. There are several National Trust properties within easy reach, including Chirk Castle, 6 miles, Erdigg, 15 miles, and Powis Castle and gardens, 30 miles, and Attingham Park in Shropshire, 35 miles.
