Vice Admiral Hardy’s monument is a short walk from the cottage and offers many great walks and fantastic views across the rolling Dorset hills and views over Weymouth and Portland – part of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic coastline.
Abbotsbury with its swannery and sub-tropical gardens is 3 miles. Weymouth’s vibrant seaside resort with award-winning beaches and sea life centre is 7 miles. Fine walks abound across the rolling Dorset hills, or along the shingle bank at Chesil beach. The Dorset coast from Swanage to Lyme Regis is easily accessible. The towns of Dorchester, Bridport and Lyme Regis are within easy driving distance. Horse riding is within 2 miles. Shop and pub serving food 200 yards.
