Rhossili Beach and Worms Head Just out of the front door and over the road you will find yourself on the All Wales Coastal Path, and just a short walk to iconic Rhossili Bay and Worms Head (NT). The Bay Bistro just minutes away serves a great breakfast. Wonderful views of Rhossili Beach and home-made cakes. At low tide you can see the skeleton of The Helvetia shipwreck pushing its ribs out of the sand. Three Cliffs Bay Three Cliffs is one of Gower's most pretty beaches and it is easy to see why. The green and sheltered river valley leading down to the sea comes complete with castle, salt marshes and sand dunes. The Tor Headland is popular with climbers who can often be seen at dizzying heights - high above the sea. You can cross the river on stepping stones to the Penmaen side of the bay (west) but watch out that the tide doesn’t cut off your return! The beach has a seasonal lifeguard station - please take care with children and dogs, the current can be strong here. The Wales Coastal Path can be accessed from here and continues it's journey right around Gower. Gower Coast Adventures - Boat Trips (May to September) Take a boat trip on a large RIB (rigid inflatable boat) to explore the Gower coast from Mumbles to Worms Head. Passengers are picked up and dropped off at Knab Rock, Port Eynon and Oxwich to be taken along the coast on a trip of a lifetime to spot grey seals, porpoises and dolphins as well as seabirds including Razorbills and Guillemots (June and July), Gannets and Sheerwaters. Sunfish can sometimes be spotted in these waters. The Bay Rider Always a fun family favourite, the land train runs between Mumbles and the Blackpill Lido on bank holidays and throughout the summer. It makes it way along The Promenade little children and adults alike will adore this little adventure along The Promenade seafront. Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre Many and varied sporting activities overlooking Oxwich bay. Experience archery sessions indoors or out (suitable for those of 6 years and older). This centre is a must for bird lovers too with 38 birds of prey on display and opportunities for meeting and handling some of them including beautiful owls. Oystermouth Castle, and the village of Mumbles Overlooking Oystermouth Bay, The Pier and Swansea Bay, this is one of Wales' finest castles. Explore parts that have been hidden away for centuries and learn about the castle's exciting history. There is a new aerial bridge with a bird's-eye view. Events are held throughout the year. Cafés, bars and restaurantsTake breakfast at Chai Deli or Cafe Valence which are both just around the corner. Dine in style with a view to match at Bistrot Pierre on the Mumbles. This first-floor restaurant has an al fresco terrace and a glass front. Croeso Lounge serves modern British cuisine and has good child facilities and is dog-friendly too. Great for a slow breakfast or an easy lunch. La Perilla brings Mediterranean sophistication to Mumbles. All three venues have stunning sea views across Swansea Bay to Devon beyond. Take your cocktails onto the glass terrace at high tide to watch the water skiers glide by on glassy waters. During the summer months you may buy fresh seafood cooked to order at The Mumbles Sea Food Shack on The Promenade. Joe's Ice Cream Parlour in the village vies with Verdi's Cafe along the Prom for the best Italian homemade ice cream, both are delicious and will have you coming back for just one more scoop. Dog friendly Caswell Bay Café is a local favourite. Run by Nigel and staffed by local youngsters every morning you are guaranteed a tasty breakfast and always great coffee. Summer on the terrace and winter around the log burner this spot is perfect all year round. Langland's Brasserie is a magic spot for sundowners while the children finish just one more sandcastle on the beach below. Castellamare Italian Restaurant is a family favourite serving authentic pizza and pasta with stunning sea views at Limeslade Bay. There is a pirate ship play area just outside fantastic to keep little ones amused while you watch the waves lapping around the lighthouse. Explore the coastal city of Swansea once home to its famous son the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Enjoy cafe culture in the Marina, water-sports in the bay and delicious local produce from the market including superfood Laverbread, Welsh cakes, cockles and Gower Salt Marsh Lamb. The National Show Caves of Wales First discovered in 1912 by the Morgan Brothers, Dan-yr-Ogof Show caves are filled with beauty and natural wonders. You will be amazed by the famous formations - the “Rasher of Bacon”, the heavenly “Angel” and the “Alabaster Pillar".
