Hixon is home to a shop and local pub which is just five minutes’ walk away, or for a wider range of amenities, the large town of Stafford is just a few minutes’ drive. The local area is full of interesting places to visit; the Trent and Mersey Canal runs through the village, whilst just a couple of miles away is the Blithfield Reservoir with a wide selection of walks, a great place for a spot of birdwatching. The Potteries are just north of Hixon, whilst Uttoxeter features horseracing throughout the year and Alton Towers is a half hour’s drive, ensuring kids of all ages will have a fabulous day’s thrillseeking.
