Manor House, Maldon

Essex. Sleeps up to 20

Osea is a highly exclusive private island located in the Blackwater Estuary just across the water from Maldon. Accessed by an ancient Roman tidal causeway, the adventure starts before you even set foot on this truly unique and remarkable place, racing the tide to check in before the track is submerged beneath the waves. Once you do arrive, there is no shortage of activities to keep you busy, all whilst remaining possibly one of the most serene locations in the country. The island offers a heated outdoor pool, saltwater lido, tennis court, cinema, games room, 4.5 miles of stunning coastline to explore, and a host of event spaces including a tiny seasonal pub and characterful function rooms.

The Manor House, located by the water’s edge, is arguably the showpiece of Osea Island with its regal turrets, original seawater pool and beach access. The grand detached Edwardian house, which oozes in both space and style, is set over three floors, and comprises no less than 10 bedrooms and six bathrooms – most of which boast luxurious four-poster beds and roll top baths. Perfect for celebrating and entertaining, there are several reception rooms with open fires and library walls, a large country kitchen and two separate breakfast rooms. The primary living room and majority of bedrooms overlook the comings and goings of boats and nature on the water, and the master bedroom is perhaps the premier room on the entire island.
