The Stables at Talli Ho, Great Escapes Wales, Bodorgan

Isle of Anglesey. Sleeps up to 6

The Stables is blessed to be in idyllic rural surroundings. Set among a 20 acre small holding some of which makes up a small, intimate camp site, the owners have made every effort to ensure guests feel welcome. The facilities here are very good, with plenty to keep the kids entertained. There are ponies, a play area, a camp fire, and even laundry facilities if you don’t want to do your own.

The Stables is a stone fronted semi-detached cottage all on one level. Recently assessed as being the ‘very best standard’ of accommodation, the owners have left no stone unturned and completely renovated this one time disused outbuilding into a cottage of the style and luxury. The bedrooms are all en suite and there are TV in each room too. The hub of the cottage is the kitchen, dining, and sitting area which is all open plan. The kitchen is extremely well equipped ensuring even the most enthusiastic cook will have everything they need. For me the best part of The Stables is the patio area outside, where you can BBQ in the sunshine.

The Stables is a barn conversion and together with Hunter’s lodge would make a great location for a large group letting both cottages. If you can bring yourself away from this rural idyll there is much to do beyond the gates of Talli Ho too. Nearby is one of the most stunning beaches in all of North Wales, Newborough beach and Llandwyn Island. Newborough forest makes for great exploring too with paths weaving in and out of the pine trees, a popular jaunt for tourist and locals alike. Rhosneigr is close by too where there is every conceivable water sport available, the beach there is famed for kite surfing and is one of the best locations in the UK to do it. The best part about the location at Hunter’s Lodge is that you can feel a million miles from anywhere and yet be roughly 20 minutes from any coastal part of Anglesey, opening up the opportunity for trips to Beaumaris a delightful Georgian coastal town overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, Moelfre the prettiest postcard village on the island and if you fancy a bit of retail therapy, the university city of Bangor is easily reached within 25 minutes.
