Glenhurst, Holmesfield

Peak District. Sleeps up to 10

This contemporary and spacious home sits in a tranquil position in the village of Holmesfield, close to the market town of Dronfield and is a fantastic base for a walking holiday. Set over two floors and backing onto picturesque fields, Glenhurst provides a luscious escape for large families of all ages, whether you are looking to escape the normalities of everyday life or just out to explore Derbyshire. Upon arrival you are greeted by ample off-road parking spaces, so there’s plenty of room for the family cars. Step inside and wander through to the large, open-plan living space which is uplifted by natural light from the window panels and bi-fold doors. Allow the head chef to get comfortable in the kitchen, equipped with an electric double oven, 6-ring hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so you’ll have everything required for home-cooking. Gather at the dining table and cheers to a much-needed family escape, before retreating to the sofa and alluring woodburning stove. Alternatively, take the evening outside and enjoy a moment on the balcony, gazing across the garden and towards the fields. There's also a handy utility with a washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for freshening up your wardrobe! When it comes to catching your rest, choose between five neatly presented bedrooms; on the first floor lies two doubles which enjoy lavish en-suite facilities, and a further two doubles (one with two twin beds), whilst there is also a ground-floor sofa bed that can be made into a double bed that is ideal for those with limited mobility. Start the morning with a shower or soak in the family bathroom, before popping on your walking boots and heading out to explore the local countryside. There are four pubs within walking distance which have been loved by the locals for many years. From your doorstep, stroll into the centre of Holmesfield where you can find the Angel Inn and Rutland Arms, ideal for treating your loved ones to some hearty fare on the days you don't feel like cooking! Head into the market town of Dronfield, which has great historical significance and the Grade I listed Church of St John the Baptist is testament to this as it has stood at the centre of this community since the 12th century. Further afield, the scenic trails and cycle routes of the Peak District await, including many fascinating caverns, imposing peaks and listed buildings. Treat the family to a memorable stay at Glenhurst.
