The Lodge, Grantham

Lincolnshire. Sleeps up to 17

The Lodge is a three-storey, detached home, settled on the edge of the market town of Grantham, Lincolnshire. Originally the Estate Manager's house, it can accommodate up to 20 people and host parties for up 40 in the large family room. The Lodge provides a wonderful base packed with charm in a fantastic location an hour outside London by train and approximately two and a half hours from Bristol, Manchester, and Durham. The A1 and A52 provide easy access to the house and LNER Trains run direct from London and the train station is only a short drive. Several off-road parking spaces greet you on arrival, making it an easy task to settle in and head inside to find a spacious entrance hall with parquet flooring, before wandering into an exquisitely decorated sitting room, where plush seating tempts you to stretch out in front of the open fire and TV. Continue to the fabulous living/dining room, a space enjoying timber-clad, vaulted ceilings, as well as ample seating to unwind on, including three leather sofas and a swing seat; another TV can be found in here, for added convenience. When you're feeling peckish, venture into the kitchen, a fabulously fitted space with monochrome, shaker-style cabinetry beholding a plethora of appliances, such as double electric ovens with a steamer oven and microwave, as well as an AGA range; the chef of the group will have a ball rustling up meals in here! These meals can be enjoyed at the space's breakfast bar, in the living/dining room, or in the formal dining room, where a large table with seating for all the group can be found. The added convenience of a ground-floor office also means that those who may be on a workcation can find a solitude place to focus - an additional single bed can be popped in here too, if required! When night falls, climb the stairs to the first floor, where four fabulous bedrooms await, including a super-king-size (zip/link, can be twin on request) with its own en-suite shower room and a TV, a room with bunk beds, a 4’6 double with a sofa bed and a further 4’6 double, along with a superb bathroom with both a bath and separate walk-in shower. Venture to the second floor to find the latter three bedrooms, including another 4’6 double (with 6'6 length), a triple room with additional sofa bed, and a family room with a 4’6 double and a single; all the bedrooms enjoy Velux windows, so they're bathed in natural light! A cloakroom and separate shower complete the second floor, ideal for avoiding those morning queues. A highlight of the property must be its garden, a one-acre space enjoying lush lawns, a bubbling hot tub and a children's play area; you're certainly well-catered to here! The location of The Lodge offers easy access to Belton House National Trust (2.7 miles away) which has a wonderful children’s adventure playground. Belvoir Castle, Stamford, Newark, and Lincoln all provide a wealth of visitor attractions and restaurants along with the many local villages in the Vale of Belvoir. For those who like their sport, Trent Bridge and the City ground are approximately 30 minutes away as are the Burghley Horse trials which take place every September. There is a wealth of wonderful golf courses within an hour including the English Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa and the fine Belton Park Golf Club which provides 27 holes within deer populated park land is only a short journey away. Full details are in the welcome pack at the house. Create everlasting memories or celebrate a momentous occasion in style with a break at The Lodge.
