The village is surrounded by ancient woods with oak trees and giant redwoods – look out for the Ariundle Oakwoods with visitor centre where there are often events happening. Enjoy walk exploring the meandering paths leading up to the open moor or strolling along the beautiful shoreline where otters and sea eagles can be easily spotted. The rest of the peninsula has much to offer, including a variety of opportunities for walking, there are a number of ’Corbett’ mountains, the stunning Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan Lighthouse at the most westerly tip of the British Isles and the Ardmamurchan Distillery. There are pristine, sandy beaches along the coast, including Sanna Bay with its impressive white sand dunes and Ardtoe Beach with white sandy coves, both with stunning views. There is an abundance of wildlife, seabirds, seals, otters, deer, pine martens, as well as dolphin/whale watching. You can rent mountain bikes in the village and go for local kayak trips.
