The Old Post Office provides a wonderful base to explore the beautiful countryside of Dedham Vale, closely associated with the works of John Constable. The cottage features in his painting, The Stour Valley from Higham.

Dating from the 1600s, this property has a wealth of features including exposed beams and fire places and provides a perfect property for a family get-together, allowing you to have a relaxing and peaceful time exploring the local area.

The charm of the original features such as the oak floor upstairs is balanced with the modern amenities of a well-equipped kitchen, bathrooms and comfy beds. There is a separate dining and sitting room with the original old post office situated at the front of the cottage, providing a further room to relax in. The cottage welcomes dogs so your four-legged friend is able to join you while you explore Suffolk. In the main cottage there are three bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The fourth bedroom is located in a separate building with its own en-suite shower room and a television providing privacy from the rest of the cottage.

The floors both downstairs and upstairs are original and uneven. There is a large step down from the sitting room into the family room.

This cottage is located in Colchester. Sir Alfred Munnings Art Museum and Hollytrees Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Suffolk Distillery and Chantry Park. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Portman Road or Ipswich Skatepark.
