The rural town of Colestocks boasts excellent country pubs, scenic walks, and some great cycling routes, such as the route down to the stunning Dartmoor National Park. Just a short drive away is Exeter city with plenty of places to explore. Take a trip to Exeter Cathedral to visit the clandestine corners and amazing architecture. If you are looking for some further culture while in the city, there are a range of museums to choose from, a favorite being the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery.

More history can be found at Powderham Castle and Grounds, just six miles out of Exeter. Over 600 years of history can be explored, all set within a picturesque deer park, plus there is a Secret Garden and Pets corner, where young children can explore and engage with an array of small animals.

Explore the neighboring county by taking in some more of glorious Dorset with a number of nearby towns that are well worth a visit, including the lively market towns of Bridport. Make sure that during your visit you put a trip to the beach on your list. Under an hour away are a number of beautiful beaches to explore and discover, such as the Jurassic Coast wonders of fossil treasure troves, Charmouth, and Lyme Regis. Keen walkers and cyclists can take in the stunning coastline path of the UNESCO World Heritage Site from Exmouth to Studland Bay in Dorset. Stop off at the regency seaside town of Sidmouth along the way or plan a day by the seaside here to enjoy the pretty Blue Flag award-winning beaches.
