Flax Cottage, Waytown

Dorset. Sleeps up to 6

This attractive three bedroom cottage accommodating up to 6 people forms part of a former 17th-century rope barn at Slape Flax Mill nested in the peaceful village of Waytown which still retains its village pub.

If you enjoy walking then you will find many public footpaths to take you into the surrounding countryside, and if you are feeling energetic you can walk to the coast following the river near to Flax Cottage.

Flax Cottage has been designed with a split level open-plan living, a country kitchen/diner area which offers a great sense of light and space which you would not expect from the outside. The wood burner keeps the entire house warm and homely on those cooler days after exploring the local area.

Two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, along with a pretty twin room , makes this a perfect stay.

Within easy reach of the Jurassic Coast, it lies 6 miles from the beach at West Bay, where boating and fishing are available, or for those loving market towns then head to Bridport which holds a market every Saturday & Wednesday in the street and has many independent shops.

An array of local produce can be bought locally, and the village pub is just a short stroll up the lane. Within easy reach is the dramatic World Heritage Jurassic coastline, including Lyme Regis and its famous Cobb (14 miles). The Market town of Beaminster is a short drive, or for those who are looking for a morning walk, you can cut through the many public footpaths to Beaminster where you will find plenty of refreshments or a spot of lunch.

Bridport is nearby and Exeter, Weymouth, Abbotsbury and Dorchester are all easy drives. Shop 2 miles.
