Behind the arched doors; pure escapism awaits!, Ringwood

Dorset. Sleeps up to 8

Behind the arched doors of Tree Top House… pure escapism awaits!

Perched overlooking a canopy of ancient pines, the WOW factor is instant. Incredible vistas, an abundance of light & space, and statement designs throughout… there is a distinct ‘Hollywood Hills' vibe to this escape (perhaps influenced by its film director owner).

As well as boasting plenty of room for you to play, chat and relax inside; the bi-folds open up onto the decking (the biggest that we have ever seen), really letting you lose yourselves amongst the tree tops!

After a day exploring Moors Valley, and its many walks & biking tracks, we recommend a sundowner cocktail… but will you BBQ, or take supper in the dining room? Every corner here is filled with a colourful and considered curation of art and furniture. The huge living room provides the perfect spot to curl-up together to watch TV, or put a record on. There are four bedrooms to choose from, but we love that the Jack & Jill option will be a joy for the little ones.

Light-filled, artsy, leafy… there's even an office! What a find. Perfect!

Inside
There is no denying that outside is also a huge feature for the inside too, where tree top scenes steal the show!

Think American chalet, with a dash of Mid-Century & Hollywood vibes… large, tranquil, and flooded with light- the owners (a jet-set pair, who work in creative film & love the 60s & 70s) have also made sure that colour & statement pieces, invite you to unwind and have fun.

From the ‘atrium' the showstopping view is revealed, and bi-folds invite you to blend inside with out, connecting the two seamlessly. The hallway sets the tone for the rest of the home- most things here are supersized!

Kitted out with all you need, that kitchen is spacious and well put together. With an adjoining utility area (also leading out to the garage), it has plenty of room and versatility; with a breakfast bar for 3, side table for 4, and doors leading out onto the front porch area… we'll take our morning coffee in the egg chair please! The art-filled dining room next door is perfect for savouring more special suppers.

When the sun has set, we recommend retiring to the sitting room. It's warm, welcoming & a whopper! There's a huge L shaped sofa at one end (for relaxing and watching TV) and lots more spots to play, curl-up by the log burner, or pop a record on. The piano here is available upon request for practised players.

For those working remotely, the downstairs office ‘pod' overlooks the front garden, and its arched windows fill the space to make it feel light & bright (we loved the turquoise & gold 1960's desk!).

Heading upstairs, the feeling of light and space continues, with four bedrooms waiting to be claimed. Two of which are absolutely enormous! The smaller twin room does benefit from being a Jack-and-Jill (with an adjoining en-suite shared with bedroom), and whilst the bathrooms err to the 90's style, they are super sparkly, everything works well and the towels are huge and fluffy.

Outside
FRONT GARDEN

The in-and-out driveway sweeps around the front of the house, with plenty of private parking for up to five cars (also providing a fab scooter or skateboard track!). There is an EV charger here for those of you who need to plug in.

Although neither entrance is gated, the mature planting and trees that frame the front garden, make it feel very private and serene. But as it is not completely enclosed, you may wish to keep an eye on younger ones and pets. The lawned area has enough room to kick a ball around, or pitch up your badminton net; and ‘referees' can choose from the garden bench or seating area to relax amongst the fun!

You can also access the garage here - with ample room to store bikes, buggies, boots, and get to the back garden too.

BACK GARDEN

The house sits up on a bank which, at the back of the house, puts you up at tree top level… and what better spot to pull up a deckchair and soak-up fresh air & birdsong, than perched amongst the pines?

With alfresco meals here a must (and a great quality gas BBQ); the decking is vast, and the bi-folds blend inside-outside living to utter perfection. Running the width of the house; and with plenty of space and seating for you all, the flooring has no gaps- making it practical for all ages… we cannot think of a nicer spot to enjoy a morning yoga session, or sundowner.

Below the decking; follow the steps down to a secure ‘secret garden'– with a woodland feel that is perfect for hide & seek, families can choose whether to use this area (and supervise if younger children or small dogs are enjoying).

Dog lovers will be happy too, with an outdoor, heated tap to wash furry ones (post-forest walks), and a fence around the garden to prevent straying when back home.

Hometruths

Please do watch your heads upstairs as each of the bedrooms has sloping ceilings in places. They're concrete-filled - so do watch it!

You will have to be careful about having arched doors open as the doors will bang if you're not careful, and can come off their hinges in very high winds. Please also make sure the parasol is folded down in high winds.

Mornings on the decking can be wet owing to frost or overnight dew or rain. Please do take care. No ball and racquet games are to be played on the decking area as there will be risk of injury.

Deer sightings and foxes in the front garden are not unusual so take care while opening the front door if you have pets with you.

Please do not play any racquet or ball games on the decking area.

There is an extra charge for logs and kindling to burn on the fire (October- March) but feel free to BYO!

Accessibility
All of the bedrooms are upstairs, and guests should take care of the recessed ceilings.

There is a small step up into the house, but then the whole downstairs level is flat. You can park within 5 metres of the front door.
