Only yards from the historic seafront: Bright, modern flat. Super dog friendly!, Anstruther

Fife. Sleeps up to 5

The Puffling is a place where you can really relax and feel at home! The property is perfectly located just one road back from Anstruther's historic harbour and lively seafront. So it feels wonderfully quiet and yet all the quaint little tearooms, gift shops shops and colourful bustle of this traditional Scottish fishing village are only a few short steps away at the end of the road.

Our lovely 2 bedroom holiday apartment has recently been decorated to the highest standards giving it a fresh and contemporary seaside look and an open, spacious feel. It has two generous double bedrooms with comfortable king size beds. One bedroom also has an optional single guest bed for families with children.

The living/dining room is set up for relaxing evenings: There is a large smart tv with Sky and Freewiew, an Alexa, a chest of games, a DVD player and a little collection of books. Or you could just sit in the armchair by the window and watch the sun go down over the sea!

The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering guests with all of the utensils and main kitchen appliances necessary for preparing your own meals should you with to do so.

The family bathroom has a large bath and multi function shower including a rainfall shower head. Basic toiletries are provided. Please bring your own rubber ducky!

The property also has the use of a shared garden that you can use freely. There is a barbecue and garden furniture for you and we highly recommend the sea views from the top of the garden! The garden is completely enclosed which makes it ideal for children and pets.

We pride ourselves on being a child friendly holiday home. High chairs and cot beds can be provided on request and we encourage our guests to share any specific requirements with us prior to their arrival. There will also be a welcome pack tailored to you waiting for you, because we know how important it is to get your holiday off to a perfect start.

We also love your four-pawed best buddies and go the extra mile to make dogs welcome with a treat! We even have a dog bed, dog towels, bowls etc. Anstruther is a very dog-friendly place and there are many excellent walks nearby. We are very happy to recommend places that will welcome dogs on the premised too. Just ask!

For our golfers we even have secure ground floor storage for your golf bags. Please ask so we can arrange access.

Located in the county of Fife, Anstruther is the largest of a string of picturesque, traditional fishing villages along this lovely stretch of Scotland’s coastline. The charming harbour and buildings that line the waterfront at Anstruther give the village a picture-postcard quality. The laid-back atmosphere that pervades the village adds to the feeling of tranquillity that envelops you when you are here. The history of Anstruther as a main centre for the fishing industry can be explored at the Scottish Fisheries Museum, located near the harbour. If history is not your thing, you can still enjoy the delights of the local fishing industry by sampling the menu at the famous Anstruther Fish Bar, which has won many awards over the years, including UK Fish and Chip Shop of the Year.

After exploring the quaint cobbled streets and browsing the shops, take a boat trip from the harbour to the Isle of May, a nature reserve in the Firth of Forth. Here you may be able to spot seals and our famous puffins, as well as other local wildlife. Sea angling trips can also be arranged locally, and golfers will find a great selection of top-quality links courses in the area. St Andrews Links is just a twenty-minute drive away.

There are also many fabulous beaches and other attractions nearby. Anstruther itself has two beaches: the small harbour beach with its quaint stepping stones and the golden sands of Billow Ness Beach. Nextdoor Cellardyke also has a beach and even a salt water swimming pool. And a short drive or bus ride away there are much larger beaches, for exmple at Kingsbarns, Elie and St Andrews.

And last but not least, if you are a walker, Anstruther is and ideal location to explore the wonderful Fife Coastal Path. Crail to one side and Pittenweem to the other side are both a pleasant ramble away!

Located in Anstruther, this apartment is near the beach. Swilken Bridge and Tantallon Castle are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Scottish Fisheries Museum and La Petite Epicerie. Cambo Estate Gardens and British Golf Museum are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
