Traditional Apartment o’er the Meadows, Edinburgh

Midlothian. Sleeps up to 10

## Space

My south facing apartment is located in a traditional Edinburgh tenement on a quiet residential street. It overlooks the Bruntsfield Links in the front and has a large communal leafy back garden with view of Arthur’s Seat in the back. The flat has four large bedrooms and one small bedroom with mezzanine bed suitable for children or young people and one single trundle bed which can be used for any extra guests when necessary. Each bedroom has a large comfortable double bed. You can store your clothes in the lovingly restored unique pieces of antique cupboards and chest of drawers. My cleaners place fresh, hotel-quality linen and towels on your bed prior to arrival.

The living room is a wonderful space, overlooking the tree tops and grassy park. It has original cornicing, fireplace and large bay windows with views across the park towards nearby Bruntsfield. There are two large comfortable sofa's, a TV, wifi and a generous dinning table and side board. Here there is room for the whole family or group to entertain themselves. There are board and other games available for your use. Original paintings and etchings adorn the walls.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and serve up your own food. There is also a washing machine and generous sized table for those who prefer to eat in the kitchen.

## Access

Guests will have access to the entire property during their stay.

## Interaction

My support team or I will be contactable by email or telephone during your stay.

## Neighborhood

This Bruntsfield flat is only a 5 minute walk from Morningside and a 10-15 minute walk across the Meadows to the University and the centre of town. Both Morningside and Bruntsfield are famous for their boutique shops, upmarket supermarkets and independent café's and bars-notably the Black Ivy bar and restaurant on the same street and the Apartment restaurant round the corner..

Bruntsfield Links was one of the earliest places where golf was played in the Edinburgh area and is still home to a small pitch and putt golf course. Clubs are available in the flat if you want to try your hand at putting.
You can walk across the Links to Melville Drive and the Meadows itself which was formed after the old Burgh Loch was finally drained in the 19th century.

While the flat is not in the hustle and bustle of the city centre, it's just a 5 minute bus ride to get there, with bus services every couple of minutes. The grassy park on your doorstep provides the perfect setting for an early morning stroll or a relaxing sit down on the grass after a hard day of exploring the city.

## Transit

There are a number of buses that will take you to different areas of the city centre. The number 23 will take you down to the old town. The 5 will take you to the bridges. The 16 will take you into the new town and down to Leith. The 11 will take you through the new town and down to the shore at Western Harbour where you will find Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre and the Royal Yacht Britannia.

## Notes

Food Shopping

By car:

The nearest big supermarket is in Morningside. Waitrose.

Turn left and follow Bruntsfield Road into Morningside. You will see the supermarket on the left. 10 minutes.
A smaller SCOTMID is 5 minutes down Bruntsfield Road towards Tollcross on the left.

On foot:

There are small shops on Bruntsfield Rd. Turn right out of the flat and when you reach Bruntsfield Road there is a petrol station which can supply basic necessities. Other small food shops and restaurants and pubs are down that way. Including the nearest fish and chip shop.
Alternatively when you come out of the flat turn left and left again into Warrender Park Terrace. 100 yards down there there is an excellent small supermarket. 200 yards down you come to a small shopping centre with COOP, delicatessens, excellent Chinese fish shop, Indian veg shops and bread shop. Excellent fresh food can be obtained here. There are also cafes , restaurants and pubs.

Newly refurbished ‘Black Ivy’ has just reopened next door. It has drinks and meals. Just past the petrol station there is an excellent restaurant called “the Apartment”. They can feed a big group there.

This apartment is located in Tollcross, a neighborhood in Edinburgh. Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile are notable landmarks and Edinburgh Zoo is a popular area attraction. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Edinburgh International Conference Centre or Tynecastle Stadium.
