4 bedroom period Townhouse in the heart of Hebden, Hebden Bridge

West Yorkshire. Sleeps up to 8

A three-story Stone built character building, Skylarks Townhouse dates from the end of England's Regency era, the period of Jane Austen's novels and the Bridgerton TV series. Originally attached at the top floor to nearby Crossley Mill, it once housed prominent Mill workers and by the turn of the next century was the home of Wilburt Ashburton the Mill manager. Now a children’s nursery, the mill chimney is a feature of the stunning views from the rear of the property. A stone's throw from independent shops, dog-friendly cafes, art spaces, workshops and local market stalls, the townhouse provides comfortable, spacious accommodation in the heart of Hebden Bridge.

Spend your days discovering the surrounding area. Hebden Bridge is a great spot for walkers to base themselves, being on the edge of the South Pennines and close to the Yorkshire Dales. Nearby are Hardcastle Craggs and the Moors. A stunning drive 'over the tops' brings you to Haworth. The Bronte sisters lived in Haworth Parsonage. Anne Bronte was born the year Skylarks was built. Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre were set in the region. The location of BBC period dramas Gentleman Jack and The Gallows Pole are both close by. Hebden is also the heart of Sarah Lancashire's Happy Valley.

Your period home is just a 5-minute walk from the train station with excellent links to the whole region. Manchester and Leeds city centres are less than an hour's journey. By car, Hebden Bridge is a great spot to break a journey between the North and South of the country. The Rochdale Canal is a feature of the area and passes behind the property.

As a self-catering house, you'll find a large kitchen/dining area with a fridge/freezer a traditional range with hobs and ovens, a kettle, and a microwave. Adjoining and open to the kitchen is a cosy living space with a smart TV signed up to Netflix, YouTube etc. The TV is linked to a Harmon Kardon sound system which can also play music via an Alexa voice control device.

The Bedrooms are spread over the two upper floors with a bathroom at the top, so guests should be mobile enough to negotiate two flights of stairs.
