Large country farmhouse with beautiful panoramic views of Strathmore and the rolling Angus Glens. A perfect location to enjoy an array of country pursuits including hillwalking, cycling, fishing and kayaking.

Three public rooms; lovely family kitchen with open fire can seat 10. Fully fitted with double oven, dishwasher, microwave and full height family fridge. South and west expansive views. Sitting room with open fire, sofas and armchairs with south views. Collection of family box games. Television and DVD player.Small parlour dining room to seat 8 with beautiful west views to gardens and open views. Utility room with large freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and second dishwasher, boot room for drying and wet storage and double/twin bedroom with ensuite and external door.

First floor
Two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms with panoramic view. Two double bedrooms with shared bathroom and a further twin bedroom with ensuite.

Second floor
Two spacious twin bedrooms with shared bathroom and study area on landing.

The barn is available on a complimentary basis to all guests of the farmhouse. This bespoke space has kitchen facilities with large table and seating for 16 in a rustic, fun layout. Ideal for larger parties dining and entertaining. Please notify when booking or during your stay if this space is for use.
The farmhouse has a large terraced garden and croquet lawn as well as 400 acres of land which guests can enjoy. Guided walks and bike hire can be arranged.

With easy access to the peaceful pathways of the Cateran trail, Loch Kinnordy RSPB reserve and the Cairngorm national park and Royal Deeside each a 30 minute drive away, Meikle Kenny Farmhouse is an excellent base for your holiday. Fishing is available locally boasting Scotland’s best rainbow trout, brown trout and salmon. Discounted day rates are available through Meikle Kenny for Lintrathen Loch. There is also a variety of adventure sport available including kayaking, wall climbing and quad biking. Indoor swimming facilities at Kirriemuir and Blairgowrie. Reekie Linn waterfall and Peel Farm Coffee and Gift Shop just ten minutes drive. Grocery shops, pubs and restaurants in Kirriemuir, Alyth and Blairgowrie. Taxi service by arrangement to Glenisla Hotel.

This 17th century farmhouse has its own wealth of history, notes are available in the property, and offers the opportunity of an informal talk from a local to delve into its rich past all bring it's history to life. Other historical sites such as Glamis Castle and Arbroath Abbey are a short drive away, making Meikle Kenny an ideal base for those with an interest in Scottish history.

All major supermarkets deliver and caretakers will meet grocery deliveries on arrival date with prior arrangement. Catering is available from a chef or home cooked meals which can be warmed by guests.

Meikle Kenny is an old farmhouse with original features and fittings. It is not a modern building and is single glazed. With original staircases it is not accessible to the very young or infirm.

A supply of wood is available for house open fires. Towels and bed linen are included. Two well behaved dogs welcome.

We have taken all precautions to prevent transmission of COVID-19, including deep cleaning and disinfection of the property. We kindly ask guests to respect local farms and businesses, adhering to all social distancing measures. Please avoid walking through neighbouring farms.

Located in Kirriemuir, this vacation home is in the mountains. Gateway to the Glens Museum and Angus Folk Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kirriemuir Golf Club and Strathmore Golf Centre.
