If you are seeking the perfect country manor, the very impressive and elegant Ashman’s Hall will delight. A large, Grade II* country manor house, it was built circa 1820 for Robert Rede with white brick and stone. Its fine elegance has been restored, and the property is approached by a long drive leading to electric gates, which offer first glance of this amazing hall. Entering through the large Portico four-column through large entrance door you find yourself in a lobby with screen of two Doric columns flanked by arched recesses. Once you step inside you will marvel at the space and elegance of this property. Pass through the inner doors into the very impressive circular central hall with its domed roof. The sweeping, double canter lever imperial stone staircase, with wrought iron balustrade and mahogany handrail, leads up to the first floor viewing gallery with its four pairs of Ionic columns with arched recesses. All ground floor rooms are spacious and boast large sash windows with views of the large wrap-around, landscaped gardens. The spacious dining room is perfect to celebrate any special occasion. This detached property lies just outside the wonderful market town of Beccles (15 minutes’ walk) which stands on the Norfolk and Suffolk border in the Broads National Park where the River Waveney runs through. The town offers independent boutiques and chain shops, an excellent collection of eateries including fine dining to many cafés serving homemade cakes and savouries. The weekly market is excellent for all things local should you wish to enjoy a night of cooking and dining in.

There are many wonderful places nearby - the Broads National Park is very popular, best enjoyed on the waterways with kayaks, canoes and day boat motor launches to hire, for a more leisurely pace, or enjoy a guided boat tour, where you can just sit back and soak up the incredible National Park. On your doorstep is the lido open air heated swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers.
The location is close to the River Waveney with an abundance of wildlife and offers great fishing opportunities. It is also perfectly placed to explore both Norfolk and Suffolk; Lowestoft is the most easterly point in the UK and Norwich is a bustling cathedral city with culture, heritage and entertainment for all. Watch the weekly speed boat racing (in season) on Oulton Broad, 9 miles. The Suffolk Heritage coastline is famous Southwold for its pier, lighthouse, beach and fresh fish seafood eateries and is 12 miles, whilst Walberswick RSPB reserve is 13 miles. Golf is withinn 1½ miles and fishing within ½ mile. Beach 8¾ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
