The Birks is a charming, single-storey stone cottage with roses blooming around the door in summer, located in a great position for exploring the area. Presented to a good standard throughout, it benefits from a living/dining room with wooden floors and a cosy wood burner, a garden room with a door leading to the enclosed garden, and a well-appointed kitchen with utility area. Sleeping four guests, there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both served by a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Situated in a beautiful location, the property lies within easy reach of Elgin, an old town with a historic museum, ruined cathedral, narrow alleys and an old fashioned cinema. Nearby Forres has many beautiful parks and gardens, and a few miles away is Pluscarden, with its ancient abbey, which is still in use and open to visitors. It is just a short drive to the unspoilt old fishing village of Findhorn, where you can easily spend a day wandering along the marina or walk all the way to Burghead along the glorious beach, past the entire eastern Culbin Forest and the huge dune system. The Moray Firth coastline is dotted with beautiful fishing villages such as Burghead, Hopeman, Lossiemouth, Buckie and Gardenstown, while inland there’s the Whisky Trail, which this property lies in the middle of. Pay a visit to Grantown and spend several days at different distilleries, all with good restaurants and tea rooms. Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.

Located in Forres, this cottage is by the sea. Universal Hall Arts Centre and Findhorn Heritage Centre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Moray Coast Trail and Dava Way. Relax and Iolaire are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing.
