Today, it has a fabulous mix of tranquillity, with walks through the meadow and along the river, to bustling pubs and bars with live bands and events going on throughout the summer. The river is a popular route with boats travelling from Stratford-upon-Avon to Tewkesbury, so on a nice summer’s day, have a picnic in the meadow and watch the world go by. A 10-minute drive will find you in Stratford-upon-Avon where you can find an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and historic houses, including William Shakespeare’s birthplace, or enjoy a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre. A short drive will take you into the beautiful Cotswolds, where you can take in the picturesque towns and villages and enjoy a traditional cream tea. The Vale of Evesham is close by and grows a variety of produce in the area, so be sure to stop at one of the many farm shops.
