LOCATION
With a plethora of excellent local cafes, shops and bars as well as a gorgeous golden beach, it’s easy to see why the seaside village of Broughty Ferry is so popular. It was home to millionaire barons during the height of Dundee’s jute industry, and it retains its high reputation as "The Jewel in Dundee's Crown" today. You can soak up the history at Broughty Castle, which dates back to 1490, or simply enjoy a stroll on the beach.

With excellent air, road and rail links, Broughty Ferry is a superb base for exploring Dundee and the delights of the Angus region. Take a hike in the hills of the Angus Glens or potter around historic villages like Kirriemuir, the birthplace of Peter Pan author JM Barrie.

Broughty Ferry is a great base for golfers too, with the famous courses at Carnoustie, Montrose and St Andrews all within an easy drive.

If you want to go car-free, The Palm at the Ferry is just a four-minute walk to Broughty Ferry train station where you can catch a train into Dundee (only four miles away) and check out V&A Museum, Science Centre and loads of other attractions. You can also venture further afield by train to the bigger cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen.
