The proximity of Bank House to all the popular sights of Melrose makes it the ideal base for exploring one of the most delightful towns in the Borders. You can easily saunter to a nearby café for breakfast, stroll over to Melrose Abbey, potter around the verdant Priorwood Gardens, and get enjoyably lost in the town’s shops and boutiques.

If you time your visit to coincide with the annual Borders Book Festival, you can meander over to the beautiful National Trust Harmony Gardens in just five minutes. After sundowners in the peaceful courtyard, where guests benefit from dedicated outdoor seating, you can amble to your pick of Melrose’s acclaimed restaurants for dinner, including the celebrated Provender, which is quite literally next door.

For days when you fancy exploring further afield, there’s a multitude of stately homes and gardens nearby, including Sir Walter Scott’s Abbotswood, Floors Castle and Thirlestane. Avid walkers can tackle all, or just sections, of two of the country’s best-loved long-distance hiking routes, St Cuthbert’s Way and Borders Abbeys Way, both of which start in Melrose.

The property sits just off the High Street in Melrose. The rear courtyard offers guest privacy however it is important to note that this courtyard is shared with School View and Eildon View which are both offered as holiday lets.
