If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat on the coast with the North Sea just moments away, Sunnyvale House is your perfect match. Sleeping up to 14 guests across 7 bedrooms this three-storey home is ideal for short breaks with all the family.

Located close to the promenade in Whitby, this impressive property provides the perfect base for exploring the seaside town and the rest of North Yorkshire.

The Space:
Sunnyvale House is packed with character and style. The property features a large living space, modern kitchen, a separate dining area, and seven spacious bedrooms, all spread across three floors. Not to mention, the property is also just around the corner from Whitby’s North Promenade and all of the town’s attractions.

The spacious living area features a flat-screen TV. There are two sofas and an armchair in the window, all in grey leather. The ideal place for relaxing, switch on the TV to catch up on your favourite shows on freeview or Netflix, or settle down with a good book. Light streams in from the bay window which faces out onto Normanby Terrace. Long curtains frame it perfectly.

Head to the dining room and you’ll find a large wooden dining table and seating for all guests.

In the kitchen you’ll find space to entertain your guests. Particularly ideal for families with children, you can chat from the table in the kitchen making it a really sociable space. Ideal for family breakfasts or evening meals with friends, this is a great place within the property for spending time with loved ones.

The kitchen is modern and stylish. The dark blue kitchen cabinets have a vintage feel and work perfectly with the black coloured oven and matching appliances. The kitchen is also practical as well as stylish, as it is fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll find three en suite bedrooms. Featuring comfy king-size beds and ample storage space, these rooms are perfect for staycations. The ensuites boast spacious walk in showers, WCs and basins.

The second floor bedrooms consist of a super king-size bedroom which is a truly tranquil space. The second bedroom features two single beds so is perfect for children and teenagers.

There is also a family bathroom on the second floor which has a bathtub, wash basin and a WC.

The third floor is where you’ll find another two bedrooms at Sunnyvale House. Both double rooms with ensuites, you’ll have everything you need to relax and enjoy your sleep after a busy day exploring all that Whitby has to offer.

Off one of the king-size bedrooms, you'll find a separate space which could be used as a quiet working area or a nursery room if required.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

Free on-street parking can be found nearby, details of which will be provided prior to your arrival.

The Neighborhood:
Set on the West side of Whitby, Sunnyvale is located close to the promenade so you can expect a fabulous central location. Just a short 5-minute walk will bring you to the town centre.

Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.

Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow mediaeval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around:
The centre of Whitby is a short ten-minute walk from Sunnyvale House.

Whitby train station is less than half a mile away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Located in Whitby, this apartment is by the sea. Whitby Pavilion and Whitby Abbey are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at North York Moors National Park and Pannett Park. Museum of Victorian Science and The Moors National Park Centre are also worth visiting.
