Town: The historic city of Lancaster sits on edge of Morecambe Bay, with the River Lune flowing through its centre. Lancaster retains many excellent examples of handsome Georgian architecture, and with its captivating medieval castle, Ashton Memorial, and four museums, it’s an interesting place for those in search of history and tales of the past. Among the many amenities, there are two venues for live performances, the Lancaster Grand Theatre and the Dukes, as well as open-air concerts held frequently in the pretty Williamson Park during the summer season.
