Hadrian's Wall is only a mile away and the area offers walking, riding and cycling routes. Within driving distance is the city of Newcastle and Carlisle.

The area's natural beauty can be seen at Northumberland National Park and North Pennines, while Mr. George's Museum of Time and Great Chesters Fort are cultural highlights. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking, rock climbing, and cycling nearby.
