There is a small enclosed garden at the property where you can sit and enjoy a sunny Scottish afternoon with a view of the marina. Outdoor garden furniture and an electric barbecue are provided for your use. A minute or so’s walk and you are on the beach overlooking the water and local islands. The coastal path takes you a stunning walk or cycle along the water’s edge all the way to Lunderston Bay where you can stop off at Cardwell Garden Centre and restaurant.
Within the Marina, the Chartroom restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and in the working boatyard, during the summer season, you will also find the cosy Café Riva run by Nardini’s who also own Scotland’s famous Café, Restaurant and Destination Ice Cream Parlour in nearby Largs. Within half a mile of the apartment you have a supermarket, bistro, chip shop and a hairdresser. A short walk over the bridge you will find the Inverkip hotel offering a lovely village pub for food and drinks. The Village also has a post office and chemist less than  a 10 minute walk from the property so you will never need to travel far.
Inverkip Station can be found a 15 minute walk from the property and there are hourly trains to Glasgow if you wish to explore further. The journey will have you in the big city in 40 minutes.

The beautiful Railway Station has a cosy Pub with great atmosphere and a real fire as well as a station café and a second hand bookshop with a small library of old photos from years ago when families took their holidays ‘Doon the Water’ on the paddle steamers.
The lovely Island of Millport, extremely popular with families, is also accessible by a short ferry trip from Largs. You can hire bikes and cycle all the way round Millport and because it is fairly flat it is suitable for all levels of cyclists and walkers. You can take a trip on the Waverley, the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world, from Largs and other nearby departure points such as Greenock. Visit http://www.waverleyexcursions.co.uk/ Largs is also home to the Vikingar Leisure Centre with swimming pool which is another fun day out for the family. There is also the Waterfront Leisure Centre in Greenock and an outdoor swimming pool in Gourock.
Various other locations can also be reached by ferry from neighbouring Gourock. If you do not require a car the Argyll passenger ferry can be taken from the ferry terminal next to Gourock railway station and this would take you straight to Dunoon town centre.
Another lovely ferry trip is the little Kilcreggan passenger ferry from Gourock terminal – it only takes 15 minutes and is a very reasonably priced boat trip http://www.spt.co.uk/kilcreggan-ferry/

You can even set sail for Arran by ferry if you head 20 miles down the coast to Ardrossan, a drive of around 40 minutes by car from the apartment but well worth the trip.
