Katy’s No 6 is a homely, ground floor apartment with a locally handcrafted mahogany double bed in the master bedroom, complete with a safe in the wardrobe. The is located very close to the centre of the charming seaside town of Amble, with its marina and a great community spirit. Amble has a working harbour with a popular Sunday morning market, ideal for sourcing fresh local food, and popular with visitors and locals. There are little shopping pods set next to the harbour, so you can peruse these too and chat to their friendly owners. After a busy day of exploring, finish off at one of the nearby restaurants along the harbour. The shops in Amble are varied with a large supermarket nearby and plenty of local bakers, butchers and bespoke shops.

Take a walk along the estuary to Warkworth, around 2 miles, that takes you past the marina. Upon entering Warkworth, the castle is one of the first things you see, set at the top of the pretty village with its riverside walks and a couple of very good cafés and pubs. Nearby Alnwick is a great day out where you can stop off at the castle, famed for its use in Harry Potter scenes, and the Duchess gardens, all popular places to visit.

Carry on up the coast to Craster, famous for its smoked kippers, then take a walk along the cliffs to Dunstanburgh Castle. From there, travel up to Seahouses, an old fashioned seaside retreat, then on up to Holy Island. Katy’s No 6 is an ideal base for planning your days out in a cosy and homely apartment, close to all the amenities in this lovely little town. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Located in Morpeth, this cottage is on a river. Alnwick Playhouse and Bailiffgate Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Lilidorei at The Alnwick Garden and Eshott Heugh Animal Park. Newbiggin Maritime Centre and Treacle Wool Shop are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as fishing and other activities like golfing.
