A delightful cottage near to Bamburgh and the coast, perfect for family holidays, Detchant

Northumberland. Sleeps up to 7

Located in the peaceful hamlet of Detchant this traditional family holiday cottage enjoys un-interrupted views of Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands, with the many coastal towns, attractions and miles of sandy beaches only a short drive away.
Walkers and cyclists have direct access to paths and trails through woodland and up onto open moorland behind, waymarked walking and cycling routes such as St Cuthbert’s Way, Sandstone Way and National Cycle Network all pass close to or directly passed the cottage.
Inside the cottage is comfortable furnished with a modern kitchen and facilities and can sleep up to 7 people. This is a family owned cottage that we have been letting to visitors for more than 4 decades, it's rural setting and facilities appeal to many of our visitors who have enjoyed returning for the peaceful location as well as the many local attractions.

Groundfloor
Good size hallway leading to lounge and also ground-floor single bedroom.
Bedroom 3: With single bed and wardrobe but please note that this room does not have an external window but some of our guests find this room useful.
Lounge: With original open fire place, flat screen TV and DVD player and window facing front garden, leading through to,
Kitchen/Diner: with electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer as well as dining table and chairs.
Bathroom: With bath and electric shower.
Utility room: With combined washing machine and tumble dryer.

First Floor
Stairs leading directly from kitchen/diner to
Bedroom 1: With double bed (and king size duvet), wardrobe and dressing table
Bedroom 2: With two single beds, bunkbed and folding travel cot also available.

Facilities
Electricity and coal for the open fire is included in the price. Additional heating for winter months is provided by a storage heater in the kitchen/diner and electric heaters in the upstairs bedrooms.
Duvets are provided for all beds. Bedding and towels are available on request as an optional extra but guests are welcome to bring their own sheets, duvet covers, towels etc.
Please note that the cottage does not have WiFI at this time.

This cottage has a private water supply.

Gardens and parking
The cottage enjoys a small garden to the front and an enclosed private garden to the rear, both available for use by our guests.
Parking for up to two cars is located very close to the cottage

Nearby
The nearest town is Belford only 2-3 miles away with and is well served by local shops, pubs and hotel/restaurant. The Black Swan in Belford is a thriving village pub welcoming all visitors, open all year round and serving good pub food on most days.
Bamburgh with its famous castle is only 6 miles away and easily accessible by car or bike. Lindisfarne with its causeway can be easily accessed at low tide.
To the north is Berwick upon Tweed with a wide range of shops and facilities and it’s long history as a military stronghold and the Scottish and English border. To the south can be found the old market town of Alnwick with its Castle, Garden and strong connections with Harry Potter.


Located in Belford, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. Belford and District Hidden History and RNLI Grace Darling Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Goswick Links Golf Club and Seahouses Golf Club. Traveling with kids? Consider The Swan Centre for Leisure, or check out an event or a game at Shielfield Park. Fishing and swimming offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking and horse riding nearby.
