The Cottage and The Barn at Shortflatt Farm are two seperate charming, warm and welcoming holiday homes in a beautiful and peaceful location surrounded by farmland and fields. Bookable together as one, the far reaching country views surrounding these stylish properties make for the perfect opportunity to get away from it all and unwind.

Inside The Cottage, guests step in to the kitchen with a handy adjoining utility room which is the perfect place to leave the coats and wellies after a long country walk. The kitchen is well-stocked for a self-catering stay with all the equipment and amenities to cook up a feast. It has the added advantage of a dishwasher and a washing machine/tumble dryer too.

The large dining room (seats six) and living rooms are downstairs along with the shower room and WC. The living room has a large log burner which will guests will enjoy in the cooler autumn and winter evenings.

The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are both found upstairs. Please note that the staircase is rather steep so may not be suitable for anyone with restricted mobility. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed whilst the second bedroom is a twin with the beds nestled in the eaves. The family bathroom can also be found upstairs. All rooms enjoy countryside views from the windows.

Inside The Barn, a fresh modern style gives a calm feel to the open plan kitchen, dining and living space with underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen is well-equipped for your stay, with a full oven, hob, large fridge freezer, and dishwasher, and as with The Cottage, there is all the equipment you will need to cook up your favourite holiday breakfast! There is also another washer/dryer for convenience.

There is generous dining space in the form of a large breakfast bar with plush seating for four, and the living room has a large sofa and two armchairs with digital TV. There is a glorious view out through the triple doors which fully open to the external patio, with further outdoor dining space and bbq area.

Upstairs, there are two en-suite bedrooms, one king-size, and one twin, both decorated in fresh tones and with plenty of storage space. The bathroom to the king room has a bath with shower over, whilst the bathroom to the twin has a walk-in shower enclosure. There is also an additional WC downstairs for further convenience. All the upstairs rooms enjoy countryside views from the windows and are light and airy.

Outside both properties, there is a spacious patio area with table and chairs, and a large grassed area which is fully enclosed with fencing. There is also access down to a private lake just a short walk from either Barn or Cottage – ideal for a light stroll at the end of a day’s adventures.
There is ample off-road parking is available in front of both properties also.

Locally, the town of Belsay is roughly a mile away, offering local amenities and convenience store. Also within easy reach by car is Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, and Morpeth Golf Club.
Whether you love hiking, cycling or simply enjoying the countryside, The Barn at Shortflatt Farm makes the ideal holiday spot at any time of the year.

Booking Terms:
The Barn is able to accept a maximum of 1 dog for an additional £20 fee, although 2 will be considered upon request.
The Cottage is able to accept a maximum of 2 dogs for an additional fee of £20 per dog.
Pets are politely asked to stay off the furniture and out of the bedrooms.

No smoking in any part of the property at any time.
Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be offered, less any booking fees, up until 4 weeks before the start date of your holiday. Within 4 weeks of arrival, no refund will be offered.
