The Nest is a charming fully-equipped cottage in the heart of the picturesque town of Melrose. The town is home to the Melrose Rugby Sevens and the Borders Book Festival and also boasts many restaurants, cafes and independent shops. St. Cuthbert's Way, Melrose Abbey and the Eildon Hills are a short walk away from the cottage.

The open plan lounge/kitchen is well-equipped while the ensuite bedroom is cosy with a bright bathroom with bath/shower. There is also small private courtyard garden at the rear of the property and plenty of free on street parking at the front of the cottage.

The cottage is an ideal retreat for couples and ideally located for many dog walks. We offer pet friendly accommodation and accept well-behaved dogs at a maximum of two per stay. Entry is via secure keypad. Please note as the cottage is a Victorian property, it does have a steep staircase which may be unsuitable for some guests.

Living Space
Downstairs consists of a small entrance hall with understair storage for muddy walking boots and shoes. The cosy and bright lounge is open-plan and leads off to a fully-equipped kitchen. The lounge has a smart TV, comfortable sofas and soft furnishings as well as a fireplace with electric fire. Local information, reading materials and a basket of games are provided for guests. WiFi is included.

Kitchen
The kitchen diner forms part of the lounge area and is well equipped. It features a fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, Nesperesso coffee machine, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen has all the utensils and dinnerware you need to cook up a meal for a cosy night in. There is a small dining table in the kitchen area or why not dine alfresco in the garden.

Bathroom
Upstairs the ensuite bathroom is decorated in palette of calming greys and white has a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and large washhand basin. Towels, guests soaps and shampoo and shower gel are provided for guests.

Bedroom
The upstairs of the cottage is carpeted and has one bedroom with and en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a new matress, bedside tables, dressing table and mirror, small walk-in wardrobe with hangers which is under the eaves of the roof and two chairs. The roman blind is blackout lined ensuring a good night's sleep.

Outdoor Space & Parking
The Nest also benefits from a small sunny private seating area to the rear of the property. The garden area is paved and is quite a suntrap, ideal for enjoying the late evening sun over a glass or two of wine. There is ample free, on-street parking right outside the front door. There is also a locked outdoor store for bottle recycling, muddy boots and it also cotnains a small freezer.

Location
The Nest is a 2 minute walk from the town centre and and 100 yards from the start of The Eildon Hills walk and St. Cuthbert's Way as well as a ten minute walk down to the river Tweed. No 9 The Nest is well located to explore further afield in the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh and the Lothians as well as Northumberland.

Located in Melrose, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. The area's natural beauty can be seen at St Abbs & Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve and Bank Street Gardens, while Old Gala House and Hawick Museum & Art Gallery are cultural highlights. Waverley Line and Scott's View are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
