Holly Cottage is a fabulous holiday home that has been recently renovated and extended to provide a truly excellent base for the family on the Black Isle. The original part of the cottage is an old Crofter’s cottage from the 19th century and has been lovingly restored. It has been added to with an amazing modern extension out the back making the most of views to the north. You can enter the property through the old front door which has ramp access into the cottage, and you can also enter through the side entrance into the modern part of the cottage. If using the latter, you are drawn to your left once you enter the property to the kitchen/dining room with great views to the Cromarty Firth and Ben Wyvis on a clear day. The kitchen/dining room is a great space and the whole family will enjoy spending a lot of time in during a stay. Doors lead out to the decking area. There’s a ground floor shower room in the modern extension as well. Beyond this and from the hallway you enter into the old part of the cottage. The living room is cosy and set-up for getting stuck into movies or a box set. Through the living room you reach the front of the house and the front door, as well as the ground floor single bedroom. On the first floor of the cottage, all in the original 19th century building, there are two bedrooms, a twin and a double bedroom, as well as another shower room. All finished to a high standard. There’s grass beyond the decking at the back for kids to run around on. Round the front of the property there’s private parking and a nice patio area which is south facing and therefore a great sun trap. It’s a lovely cottage, not just for its set-up and finish, but for its location.
