Every room has been furnished and decorated to a high standard, and each comes with its own private facilities including en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, sink, WC, heated towel rail and TV so it’s perfect if you want to get the whole family together with plenty of space and flexibility for your sleeping arrangements. All rooms comfortably sleep two guests with a mixture of double beds and king-size four posters. Five bedrooms on the first floor and one on the ground, it’s ideal. Downstairs, you’ll find a spacious living room with plenty of easy seating, some amazing pieces of furniture and classic William Morris interior design including stunning original marble fireplace with large flat screen TV. There’s also a spacious Arts & Crafts styled dining room where you can all dine together around a huge period table. Fancy a special family meal, Christmas dinner, all you can eat buffet, or even a games night? This setting is perfect. A modern kitchen is provided to the rear with cosy seating/dining area for 6 + TV leading out to seating in the rear courtyard.
In terms of location, it doesn’t get much better. You can walk into Windermere which is about 5 minutes away on foot. It’s thriving high street with a number of cafés, restaurants, pubs and bars as well as a selection of high-end craft shops and galleries, makes a great shopping trip and a hot spot for a pint and a meal. You’ll also find Booth’s, Sainsbury’s and a co-op to stock-up on your essentials. Walk down the hill to Bowness-on-Windermere in about 15 minutes for access to Lake Windermere where you can ride the steamers on the Lake to Ambleside in the North and lakeside at the South, joining the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for a great day out. You can also feed the ducks and geese or hire a boat to take out on the lake by the hour. Bowness is a hive of activity and has a wide range of bars, restaurants, shops and draws in the crowds from miles around. Jump in the car and you can drive to Ambleside in 10 minutes, Grasmere in 15 and arrive in Keswick in about 35 minutes. If you love the outdoors, there are lots of famous Wainwright Fells to be explored in the area as well as plenty of activities and tourist attractions to be enjoyed. Beach 19 miles.

Newstead premises are managed by LRM Security, Kendal who provide a 24 hours CALL OUT, ‘Alarm Response’ and ‘Key Holding Service’. Guests are liable for emergency on the spot call out charges arising from misplaced keys, electrical trips caused by misuse or antisocial behaviour.
No EV vehicle charging is permitted at Newstead. There is a pay-as-you-go electric vehicle, InstaVolt fast charging station located 5 minutes away at Booths Supermarket in Windermere Village near the railway station at LA23 1QA as well as other charging points in the area. If unauthorised charging is carried out at Newstead LRM will levy a spot charge of £50 per call out.
No guest pets are permitted on Newstead property or within the house. Guests bringing unauthorised pets on to the property will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.
Please be aware that electric vehicle charging is not permitted at the property.
