Detached Thatched Cottage In The Village Of Carisbrooke, Newport

Set in a superbly quiet position in the peaceful village near Newport with views up to Carisbrooke Castle. At the rear of the cottage there is a brook where you can watch the kingfisher catching his breakfast. There is a small level patio running along the width of the cottage along side the brook, overlooking the old mill. The brook is fenced off and gated therefore safe for young children. The front garden is laid to lawn & flower beds where there is a patio with a table & chairs. There is parking for 2 cars at the front of the cottage, with additional parking a short distance further up the lane. There are numerous bridleways & footpaths through to the countryside, directly from the cottage & of course Carisbrooke Castle is only a short walk away. In the summer months special activities are arranged for children. There is a village shop (Co-op), Italian restaurant, 2 pubs and another restaurant. They are a short walk over the Forde There is also a Post office where you can buy your newspaper. Outside the Co-op is the bus stop with a bus service into the Principle town of Newport for all the main shops. IOW is a network of small country lanes & nowhere is very far, including the beaches - it just takes a little longer!

This cottage is located in Newport. Shanklin Theatre and Dinosaur Isle are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Garlic Farm and Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Traveling with kids? Consider Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary and Isle of Wight Owl and Falconry Centre. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
