Caithness is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable 6 bedroomed holiday home - perfect for large families - situated on the banks of the Monmouthshire Brecon Canal. It is a home from home, run by a small family business.

Built in 1959, it has recently been extended and renovated into a contemporary holiday home which sleeps up to 10. It boasts beautiful views and is the perfect destination to enjoy a relaxing escape to the welsh countryside.

GROUND FLOOR

During your stay, you will have access to the whole house including the parking area to the front and the garden to the rear.

The ground floor comprises a cosy lounge with comfy 'slouchy' sofas, a log fire for those cold winter nights and a large flat screen smart TV with Netflix and TV catch up services.

There is a spacious kitchen diner with a double oven, induction hob, a dishwasher and fridge freezer.

The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer along with an iron and ironing board, should you need them.

There is also a quiet study room with a desk and swivel chair, several armchairs and a range of books and board games for the whole family.

Finally, there is a cinema/games room - equipped with a 3-in-1 revolving games table including pool/air hockey/table tennis and a cinema projector which can be used to watch DVDs, Netflix or catch up TV. It can also be linked up to laptops/XBOX/PlayStation via the HDMI cable.


*Our log fire is available to use from the start of October to the end of March.

FIRST FLOOR

The first floor showcases a large bathroom with walk in shower and a freestanding bath.

Bedroom 1 is our master bedroom with a supersized window and a spectacular view, super king bed and smart TV.

Bedroom 2 has a king bed and a TV.

Bedroom 3 has a king bed.

Bedroom 4 has a double bed and a smart TV.

Bedroom 5 has a single bed.

Bedroom 6 has a single bed.

All bedrooms have drawers and mirrored wardrobes. In three of the bedrooms there are dressing tables with hairdryers.

There is also an additional shower room with a toilet and basin. There will be a small selection of toiletries available for you to use during your stay such as: shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/shower caps.

Towels are provided for guests.


OUTSIDE

Throughout the summer months, there is a gas BBQ and rattan furniture available to use out on the balcony, to allow you to relax and dine outside, while enjoying the view. Please note: From 1st October - 31st March these will be covered/stored away.

At Caithness Holiday Home we have 1 three-person canoe, 2 kayaks and a rowing boat available for guests to use on the canal. Life jackets of a variety of sizes are provided. It is possible to hire a variety of larger boats/barges for the day from the nearby Goytre Warf.

We have 5 mountain bikes available for you to use should you wish to explore the cycle path along the banks of the canal. This path is accessible for over 30 miles towards Brecon for cyclists, walkers and boats alike.

Please note: From time to time some of our outdoor equipment may be unavailable (including the boats, bikes and fishing gear) if we need to carry out necessary repairs. We reserve the right to do this at any time without prior notice. We will always do our best to communicate this to our guests in the event that any equipment should be missing during their stay.

Located in Pontypool, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Wernddu Golf Club and Celtic Manor Resort Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Bowlplex Cwmbran and Treetops Sporting Ground Ltd. Traveling with kids? Consider Super Tubing, or check out an event or a game at Aber Rocks Climbing Centre. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
